Three ways to put a known load on a belt weigher
A belt weigher is checked by applying a load whose value is already known and comparing it with what the integrator reads. Which reference suits depends on the frame, the conveyor and the check you need to make; we can supply and set up any of them.
Stored-in-place billet weights
- Kept on the weigh frame and lowered onto the scale for a check, then lifted clear
- Work on all our weigh frames, in standard designs or custom-made
- Screw-type billets include a special alloy that stops the stainless-on-stainless seizing (stuck screws) other frames suffer
- Shown on a PBW4-3 with two billet weights
Stored-in-place plate weights
- Plate weights stored on the frame and applied for routine checks
- Lever-applied stored-in-place weights available on the CBW1-1 Multiwidth
- Standard designs, or made to suit an existing frame
- Shown on a PBW4-1 with plate weights
Roller calibration chains
- A distributed reference load over the whole weighing area
- Restrained while the belt runs beneath its rollers: it does not travel with the belt
- Coverage, mass per metre and restraints matched to the installation
- Supplied, inspected and set up for your conveyor
Billet weight arms and like-for-like replacements
Billet weight arms carry and apply the billets on frames built for them. We make replacement arms and billets, and like-for-like replacements for other makes of belt weigher, including Thermo Ramsey calibration weights.
Send a photo of the existing weight or arm, any markings, and the frame it sits on, and we will match it.
Quoted separately, made to suit
Calibration weights and billet weights are not included as standard with a weigh frame; they are always quoted separately, so you only pay for the reference your site needs. We have standard designs for our frames and make custom weights when a conveyor or an existing frame calls for them.
