EMC weightometer integrators supplied, installed and calibrated across Australia

Whether you call it an EMC weigher, belt weigher or weightometer, the integrator processes load-cell and belt-speed signals to calculate flow rate and accumulated weight. We can help select an MP1 or MP2 for an integrator replacement or a complete belt weigher system, with compatibility checked for your installation.

The EMC ModWeigh MP1 and MP2 are the belt weigher integrators (also called belt scale processors or weightometer integrators) that Accurate Industries fits to the majority of the belt weigher systems we supply across Australia. Designed and manufactured in New Zealand by EMC Weighing, the ModWeigh range has been in continuous development since the 1970s and is one of the most widely used belt scale integrators in Australian mining, quarrying, cement and bulk handling plants.

An integrator is the brain of a belt weigher. It takes the load signal from the weigh frame load cells and the pulse signal from the speed sensor, calculates the live flow rate (t/h) and accumulated totals, shows them on a display and passes the data to your PLC or SCADA system. The MP1 and MP2 run the same ModWeigh belt weigher software – the key differences are display size and the I/O configuration. Both processors are panel-mounted.

  • Digital calibration settings, with configurable filtering and zeroing functions
  • Low drift and stable readings over long production runs
  • 5 V DC load-cell excitation; cell quantity and loading checked for the selected configuration
  • Modbus communications on independent RS232 and RS485 ports as standard
  • USB host and device ports for calibration backup, data logging and software updates
  • Panel-mounted MP1/MP2 processors, or a separate MT1 transmitter for modular installations
  • Replacement options for legacy integrators, subject to compatibility checks
  • Supplied, commissioned, calibrated and supported Australia-wide by Accurate Industries

Which ModWeigh integrator do I need?

MP1 vs MP2 vs MT1 at a glance

EMC MP1

The full-size ModWeigh integrator. A large 109 mm colour display and silicone keypad suit operators who need to read rate and totals at a glance. Specify the MR1 module for additional field I/O.

  • 109 mm colour LCD, 480 × 272 pixels
  • Speed input and serial communications
  • Add MR1 for analogue, digital and totaliser outputs

EMC MP2

The compact ModWeigh integrator with a 144 × 72 mm front panel. Same weighing engine as the MP1 in a smaller panel footprint, ideal where panel space is tight or a local display is all that is needed.

  • 70 mm colour LCD, 320 × 240 pixels
  • 4–20 mA out, 1 digital in, 2 digital outs, USB
  • Internal MO3 card adds 4 DI, 4 DO and 4–20 mA in/out
  • Polyester film tactile keypad

EMC MT1 transmitter

A blind (no display) DIN rail transmitter for sites that only need the belt weigher data in the PLC. Configure it over Modbus or by temporarily plugging in a display, then leave it in the field junction box.

  • DIN rail mount, no keypad or screen
  • Four separate load-cell inputs with corner adjustment
  • Rear-mounted or remote DIN rail I/O modules
  • Configuration selected to suit the display and control requirements

EMC MW95A and MK95A belt-weigher systems: identifying your ModWeigh equipment

Does your manual or system label say MW95A or MK95A? EMC lists these designations for belt-weighing applications, alongside hardware names such as MP1, MP2 and MT1. The application name alone does not identify every component fitted to your installation.

Name you may seeWhat to identify
MW95A / MK95ABelt-weighing designations listed by EMC. Record the exact code and software version; do not treat them as interchangeable replacement part numbers.
MP1 / MP2Processors with a local display. Check the model, connections and fitted I/O before selecting a replacement.
MT / MDSeparate transmitter and display hardware. Record both labels and their connections.
MR1 / MO3I/O hardware used in different configurations. Confirm the module fitted and required signals.

Send the label details, software version and photos so we can identify the correct documentation, service or replacement options. A MW95A reference does not by itself mean you have an obsolete MP1.

Use documentation that matches the exact configuration; the MW95A document is not a substitute for checking an MK95A-labelled system.

Replacement & upgrades

Replacing an old or obsolete belt weigher integrator?

If you have an older belt scale integrator that is no longer supported – including many Thermo Ramsey, Milltronics and other legacy units – a ModWeigh system may provide a suitable replacement after checking the existing installation. EMC publishes specific ModWeigh upgrade kits for Thermo Ramsey belt scales, and compatible weigh frames, load cells and speed sensors may be retained.

Accurate Industries will check your existing load cell and speed sensor signals, supply the correct ModWeigh model and I/O, install and wire the new integrator, then carry out a full calibration (test chain or test weights, and a material test where required) to check the performance of the completed installation.

What we supply with every ModWeigh
  • Integrator configured for your belt width, speed and capacity before it leaves our workshop
  • Panel or field enclosure options to suit the installation
  • On-site commissioning and calibration by our field technicians
  • Modbus / PLC integration support and I/O drawings
  • Calibration certificates and ongoing calibration services
  • Spare parts and I/O expansion cards held in Australia

When we supply a complete integrator kit in an enclosure, it includes our interface PCB, with pull-out terminals, AC or DC power options and visual pulse indicators. Explore the integrator interface PCB →

Stand-alone or built into an enclosure

Every installation is different, so we work out how the MP1 or MP2 is mounted with you before we quote. We supply it three ways:

  • Stand-alone Ready to fit into your existing panel or switchroom.
  • Built into our 316 stainless steel enclosure 400 × 400 × 250 mm, with a viewing window. Ready to mount out near the scale.
  • Built into another enclosure to suit the site For installations where it needs to match an existing panel, fit a tight spot or leave room for extra communications gear.

When we supply a complete kit in an enclosure, our integrator interface PCB is included, so the field wiring lands on clearly labelled terminals. Tell us where the integrator will live, how far it is from the weigh frame, and what power and communications you have, and we'll recommend the setup that suits.

FAQ

EMC ModWeigh integrator frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the EMC MP1 and MP2?

The MP1 provides a larger display and uses MR1 expansion for field I/O. The compact MP2 includes basic I/O and accepts an internal MO3 expansion card. Choose the processor and modules together to suit the panel, operator and control-system requirements.

Can a ModWeigh integrator replace my existing belt scale integrator?

A ModWeigh system may be suitable for an existing belt weigher. We will check the load cells, speed sensor, power supply, panel space and control-system connections before recommending a replacement. Existing components can be retained where compatible.

How does the ModWeigh connect to my PLC or SCADA?

Modbus communications use RS232 and RS485. For analogue and digital signals, specify the required I/O configuration: MR1 with MP1, or the MP2 built-in I/O with optional MO3 expansion. We will confirm the signal types and connections for your PLC or SCADA system.

How accurate is a belt weigher fitted with an EMC ModWeigh?

Integrator accuracy figures describe the instrument alone, not the accuracy of the complete belt weigher. System performance also depends on the weigh frame, idler alignment, belt tension, conveyor conditions and calibration. Accurate Industries offers systems from ±1% for a compact single-idler frame and from ±0.25% for multi-idler arrangements, subject to the application and installation.

Do you stock EMC ModWeigh integrators and spares in Australia?

Yes. Accurate Industries is an authorised Australian distributor for EMC ModWeigh and holds MP1 and MP2 integrators, I/O expansion modules and speed sensors in Australia, with commissioning, calibration and repair support Australia-wide.

Need an EMC ModWeigh integrator, upgrade or calibration?

Tell us your belt width, belt speed, capacity and control system and we will recommend the right ModWeigh MP1, MP2 or MT1 configuration, supply it ready to run and commission it on site.
