Need help with a CST belt weigher or weightometer? Accurate Industries can assess your service enquiry and confirm the support available for the installed equipment. Send the model, site location and symptoms so the required mechanical, electrical and calibration work can be identified before a visit is arranged.
Independent support: CST refers to Control Systems Technology. Accurate Industries is an independent service provider and does not represent CST as an authorised dealer or manufacturer-appointed agent.
What CST equipment needs identifying?
Record both the weigh frame details and the electronics connected to it. Existing equipment may be described on site as IPC-14, WIM 2 or WIM 3. CST’s current product information uses the name MaVIS-ARM WIM3 Integrator. These names help identify an enquiry; they do not establish that every variant, software function or proprietary repair can be supported.
Photograph the nameplates and complete display messages, and include software information if readily available. If the installation has been modified, provide the current drawings as well as the original equipment details. We will confirm the proposed scope after reviewing this information.
CST belt weigher calibration: what should a visit cover?
Calibration needs to consider the complete installation, rather than just the number displayed by the integrator. A useful scope includes the condition of the weigh frame and idlers, belt tracking and tension influences, load cell installation, speed measurement and the relevant instrument settings.
- Record the starting condition. Note the reported error, operating range, previous results and recent work before making adjustments.
- Inspect the installation. Investigate binding, build-up, damaged components and alignment issues that could affect repeatability.
- Check zero and the measurement inputs. Use procedures appropriate to the installed equipment and software.
- Apply an agreed reference method. Static weights, a test chain or a material test have different requirements and limitations; establish what the proposed test will demonstrate.
- Record the outcome. Document the method, reference, test conditions, results, adjustments and any work still required.
See what happens during a belt weigher calibration visit. Routine maintenance calibration should not be presented as a separate trade-verification service. Tell us if the measurement is used for trade so the applicable requirements and service scope can be established.
CST weightometer faults and inaccurate readings
These are the areas we look at first. Work on or near a conveyor, or inside an electrical enclosure, needs isolation under your site’s procedures and trained, authorised people. If that’s not you, stop and call us on 1300 101 666.
| Symptom | Areas to investigate | Useful information to send |
|---|---|---|
| Unstable or drifting zero | Build-up, belt condition, mechanical restraint, load cell signal, wiring and environmental effects. | Whether the belt is empty, warm or cold, and whether the change repeats. |
| Totals disagree with another reference | Reference quality, matching test boundaries, zero/span, speed scaling and operating range. | Both totals, the comparison method, flow rates and test duration. |
| No speed or intermittent speed | Sensor mounting or drive, supply, cabling, input compatibility and pulse scaling. | Sensor label, displayed speed and when the signal disappears. |
| No load signal or unexpected load reading | Mechanical loading, load cell circuit, excitation, connections and instrument diagnostics. | Exact readings, messages and recent wiring or mechanical changes. |
| PLC value differs from the local display | Configured outputs, scaling, communications, update status and the variable being read. | Local and PLC values, protocol and any timeout or status indication. |
CST spare parts, load cells and speed sensors
A replacement needs more than a matching connector or nominal capacity. Load cell mounting, sensitivity, excitation and wiring must suit the installation. Speed sensor supply, signal type, pulse output and mechanical arrangement also need checking.
Send the part number, equipment model, photos and drawings for a compatibility assessment. A quotation should identify whether a proposed part is a genuine manufacturer part or an alternative, along with any installation or commissioning changes. Availability and suitability need to be confirmed for the particular enquiry; this page is not a promise of access to every CST spare or proprietary component.

Repair, recalibrate or replace a CST belt weigher?
A sound installation may need servicing, correction of a mechanical issue and recalibration. A damaged or unsuitable component may justify a targeted replacement where compatibility permits. A broader upgrade or relocation needs a clear reason, such as deteriorated mechanics, an unsuitable weighing position or changed operating requirements.
Replacing the integrator alone will not correct every installation problem. Compare the work required, retained components, shutdown needs and commissioning evidence before deciding. The recommendation should follow the condition and requirements of your system.

Frequently asked questions
Can I enquire about WIM3 support?
Yes. Send the exact model, software and task required so we can confirm the available support. Do not assume a procedure for another WIM generation applies to your unit.
Does a calibration error mean the integrator needs replacing?
No. The mechanics, sensors, settings and comparison reference all need assessment before deciding which work is justified.
Can I send photos if I do not know the model?
Yes. Email safe, accessible nameplate and display photos. Do not open an enclosure or approach moving equipment solely to obtain a photo.
Need a manual for your equipment?
Talk to us about manuals for your equipment. Send the make, model, serial number and software version (a photo of the label is fine) and we’ll help you find the right document.
