The EMC ModWeigh MP1 and MP2 are the belt weigher integrators (also called belt scale processors or weightometer integrators) that Accurate Industries fits to the majority of the belt weigher systems we supply across Australia. Designed and manufactured in New Zealand by EMC Weighing, the ModWeigh range has been in continuous development since the 1970s and is one of the most widely used belt scale integrators in Australian mining, quarrying, cement and bulk handling plants.
An integrator is the brain of a belt weigher. It takes the load signal from the weigh frame load cells and the pulse signal from the speed sensor, calculates the live flow rate (t/h) and accumulated totals, shows them on a display and passes the data to your PLC or SCADA system. The MP1 and MP2 run the same ModWeigh belt weigher software – the difference is the size of the display, the amount of built-in input/output, and how they are mounted.

The full-size ModWeigh integrator. A large 109 mm colour display, silicone keypad and the most on-board I/O – the standard choice for a control room or MCC panel where operators need to read rate and totals at a glance.
The compact ModWeigh integrator in a standard 144 × 72 mm DIN cut-out. Same weighing engine as the MP1 in a smaller panel footprint, ideal where panel space is tight or a local display is all that is needed.
A blind (no display) DIN rail transmitter for sites that only need the belt weigher data in the PLC. Configure it over Modbus or by temporarily plugging in a display, then leave it in the field junction box.

Specifications are taken from the current EMC ModWeigh brochure and may change without notice. Please confirm the configuration you need with Accurate Industries before ordering – we will match the integrator, I/O and enclosure to your weigh frame, speed sensor and control system.
If you have an older belt scale integrator that is no longer supported – including many Thermo Ramsey, Milltronics and other legacy units – a ModWeigh MP1 or MP2 is usually a straightforward drop-in upgrade. EMC publishes specific ModWeigh upgrade kits for Thermo Ramsey belt scales, and in most cases the existing weigh frame, load cells and speed sensor can be retained.
Accurate Industries will check your existing load cell and speed sensor signals, supply the correct ModWeigh model and I/O, install and wire the new integrator, then carry out a full calibration (test chain or test weights, and a material test where required) so the new system is accurate from day one.
Get in touch with your ModWeigh model (MP1, MP2 or MT1) and software version. Our technicians work with these integrators every week and can help with manuals, wiring, calibration and setup questions.
Both run the same ModWeigh belt weigher software and have the same accuracy. The MP1 has a larger 109 mm display, a silicone keypad, more built-in I/O (pulse in/out, digital in/out and 4–20 mA) and multi load cell corner adjustment. The MP2 is a compact 144 × 72 mm DIN panel unit with a 70 mm display, one digital input, two digital outputs and a 4–20 mA output, which can be expanded with an internal MO3 I/O card. Choose the MP1 where operators use the display and where you need the most I/O; choose the MP2 where panel space is limited.
In most cases yes. The ModWeigh accepts standard strain gauge load cells (1 to 10 load cells on 5 Vdc excitation) and a pulse-type speed sensor, so it can be fitted to most existing weigh frames including Thermo Ramsey, Milltronics/Siemens, Schenck and Accurate Industries frames. We will confirm compatibility from your existing load cell and speed sensor details before quoting.
Every ModWeigh has Modbus RTU on independent RS232 and RS485 ports as standard, plus a 4–20 mA analogue output for flow rate and an isolated pulse output for remote totalising (MP1). Rate, totals, belt speed, load and alarm status are all available as Modbus registers. Additional analogue and digital I/O is available through the MR1 (MP1) or MO3 (MP2) expansion modules.
The integrator itself is typically better than 0.01%, so the overall system accuracy is set by the mechanical installation – the weigh frame type, idler alignment, belt tension and conveyor conditions. Accurate Industries belt weigher systems achieve from ±1% with a single idler compact frame down to ±0.25% or better with a multi-idler frame. See our belt weigher page for the difference between integrator accuracy and system accuracy.
Yes. Accurate Industries is an authorised Australian distributor for EMC ModWeigh and holds MP1 and MP2 integrators, I/O expansion modules and speed sensors in Australia, with commissioning, calibration and repair support Australia-wide.
Tell us your belt width, belt speed, capacity and control system and we will recommend the right ModWeigh MP1, MP2 or MT1 configuration, supply it ready to run and commission it on site.
