Do you service EMC belt weigher integrators?
Yes. We service every brand on site, and we are an agent for EMC, which is one of the brands we handle most. That covers the MP1 and MP2 processors and the ModWeigh modules around them, along with the weigh frame, carriage, load cells and speed sensor. Scheduled calibrations, breakdown callouts, mechanical repairs, sensor swaps, comms setup and commissioning of new or replacement scales are all regular work for us.
To be clear on one thing: routine belt weigher calibration is practical maintenance work, not a trade certificate. We set the scale up properly, prove it repeats, and always tell you what state we found it in.
MP1 vs MP2: what is the practical difference?
Less than most people assume. The MP1 and MP2 are siblings in the same ModWeigh family, not an old model and its replacement. Functionally they do essentially the same job, and the difference that matters when you are standing in front of one is the format: the MP1 carries the larger screen, while the MP2 is the more compact unit. Which one suits a site usually comes down to where it is mounted and how much the operators use the display day to day: a unit that gets read and driven at the conveyor earns the bigger screen, while a unit that mostly reports back to a control room can be the compact one.
Because they are the same family, working on one means working on the other: the setup logic, calibration approach and records carry across. If you are unsure which unit you have, the front of the unit and its nameplate settle it, and a photo to us settles it just as fast.
Do we hold the EMC documentation?
A common frustration on sites with older belt weighers of any brand is that the paperwork has gone missing: the manual walked off site years ago and the setup values live in one long-departed contractor’s notebook. With EMC we solve that twice over. First, we hold a comprehensive EMC ModWeigh documentation library, from installation and setup references through to wiring diagrams, plus our own field-built quick-reference guides. Second, for every EMC integrator we service we log the unit by serial number with its model, configuration and the calibration values we set, so the next visit starts from a known state rather than a blank page. If a unit ever has to be swapped, we already know how the old one was configured, and the replacement goes in matching what the site actually ran.
What does an EMC calibration look like?
At a reader level, an EMC calibration follows the same logic as any belt weigher: the menus differ, but the principle does not.
Zero (tare) is taken with the belt running empty over whole belt revolutions, so the integrator can learn and subtract the weight of the belt and moving frame. A clean, repeatable zero is the foundation of accuracy, and most drift traces back to something upsetting it: build-up on the carriage, a binding tie rod, or vibration.
Span teaches the integrator what a known load weighs, checked against a reference such as a test weight on the weigh idler, or a material comparison against a separately weighed load where a static weight will not fairly represent normal running.
Every value we touch is recorded as found and as left, so you can see exactly what the scale was doing when we arrived and what we changed. That record is also what makes the next service quicker. It lives in AIMM, our asset management system, with the date the next service is due, at no extra cost.
What goes wrong on EMC scales?
Speed sensor mismatches during swaps. The most common call is not an EMC fault at all: a spare speed sensor of a different signal type goes on during a swap and the integrator reads no speed. We check the sensor type against what the input is configured for before we start, which saves chasing a fault that is really a mismatch.
Aged cabling and junction boxes. Many EMC installs have been out in the weather for years. Moisture in the sensor junction box, corroded terminals and worn cable insulation cause more intermittent speed and weight faults than the integrator ever does. We wire our own junction boxes to a standard we can stand behind, and re-terminating a tired box is often the cheapest accuracy improvement on the whole scale.
Everything a belt does to every scale. Beyond those, a belt weigher is a belt weigher: build-up, binding tie rods, a worn speed sensor, belt tracking and vibration affect an EMC scale like any other brand. Can you supply a new or replacement EMC integrator?
Yes. We supply and fit EMC ModWeigh systems on new and replacement belt weighers, and we handle the whole job: supply, install, configure, calibrate and document. A typical replacement runs:
- Match the setup. Where we have serviced the old unit, we carry its recorded configuration across so the new integrator matches what the site ran.
- Wire and configure. We terminate the load cell and speed sensor wiring, set the inputs to suit what is fitted, and confirm the signals are clean before power-up matters.
- Zero and span. We run the empty-belt zero and a span, then repeat to prove it holds before handover.
- Document. You get the as-installed serial, nameplate details, configuration and results written down for the next tech.

Is the MP1 an older model I should be replacing?
No. The MP1 and MP2 are siblings, not generations: the MP1 simply carries the larger screen. A ModWeigh unit that calibrates cleanly and holds its numbers does not need replacing, whichever of the two it is. We replace units when they have genuinely failed or when a site wants to standardise, not for their own sake.
Can you calibrate an EMC unit if nobody on site has the manual?
Yes, easily. We hold the EMC documentation library ourselves and work on these units constantly, and we leave you with the configuration recorded so the missing site copy stops mattering.
Do you supply EMC integrators and parts?
